If you have either never had an Amex card before or had one in the past but cancelled it, you may be eligible for the unprecedented deal of 125,000 Membership Rewards points + 10x Points at US gas stations and US supermarkets for the Amex Platinum Card.

Chase Sapphire Preferred: 80,000 Points Signup Bonus

For a limited time, you can earn 80,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account membership. When redeemed through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal, those points can be redeemed for $1,000 towards travel.

The card earns 2x points on travel and dining at restaurants and 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases. In addition, you’ll get 25% more in value when redeeming for travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal. The card does carry a $95 annual fee.

Note: In order to be eligible for this offer, you must not have any other Sapphire card and not received a new cardmember bonus for any Sapphire card in the past 48 months.

Also note that the “5/24” rule applies — You won’t be approved for the card if you have had 5 new credit lines opened in the past 24 months from *any* credit card company.

Get a Free Southwest Companion Pass When you Open a new Rapid Rewards Credit Card and Make a Purchase

If you live in California, Southwest and Chase have a great deal for you. Through November 30, 2017, when you open a new Rapid Rewards credit card and make a purchase, you’ll get a free Companion Pass. When you have Companion Pass status, you can name one designated companion who can fly free with you every time you fly on Southwest, provided they share the exact itinerary as you, as long as a purchaseable fare for your itinerary is still available.

Limited-Time Offer: Hilton Amex Cards Increase Bonuses

Through May 31, 2017, new cardmembers who sign up for either a Hilton Honors or Hilton Surpass credit card from American Express are eligible for sweetened sign-up bonuses.

The Hilton Honors no annual fee card will now earn 80,000 Hilton Honors points after you spend $2,000 in the first 3 months. That’s up from the 75,000 points previously offered, but requires $1,000 more in spending, which makes it a mediocre value proposition for most people.
On the other hand, the new offer for the Hilton Honors Surpass Card is much better. New cardmembers will now receive a free night certificate on their Card Membership anniversary in addition to earning 100,000 points after spending $3,000 in their first 3 months. Getting the free night certificate does require that you pay the $75 annual fee for the second year, but you should easily be able to redeem the free night certificate for a value far exceeding $75.

SPG Amex Matches Its Highest Ever Signup Bonus of 35,000 Starpoints

Chase is upping the ante in the small business credit card market. It just announced that a brand new card, the Chase Ink Business Preferred, will debut later this year. The card will have a 80,000 point signup bonus, which will require new cardmembers to spend $5,000 in their first 3 months.

The card will also earn 3 points per dollar for the first $150,000 spent on travel, telecommunications, shipping and advertising on social media and search engines. Purchases beyond that limit or in other categories will earn 1 point per dollar.

The card will have a $95 annual fee, waived the first year if the account is opened at a branch.
