The Fort Knox Federal Credit Union’s Visa Platinum Card has long held a spot in our best cash back credit cards list as an honorable mention, based upon its strength has an excellent gas credit card, offering a 5% cash rebate on all gas paid at the pump. Now, for a limited time, through the end of March 2016, there’s another reason to take notice of the card–it’s offering a 0% APR for 12 months on balance transfers with no balance transfer fees. Even better, this balance transfer offer is good for both new and existing cardholders.

The basics
In addition to the 5% rebate on gas purchases, the Fort Knox Visa Platinum Card also:

• Earns 1% rebate on all other purchases,
• Rebates automatically applied each month as a statement credit
• As with all of the Visa cards that Fort Knox offers, the Platinum card also does not charge an annual fee.

Be forewarned: Initial credit limit capped at $2,500
One thing that does put a damper on the value of this balance transfer offer, however, is that Fort Knox is very conservative with its credit limits. First time Fort Knox credit card applicants are limited to a maximum credit line of just $2,500. Those who have been Fort Knox cardholders longer, however, can receive up to a $25,000 credit line on the Platinum Card.

Interested in applying? It should be noted that it is possible to apply for the card without being a member. Joining the credit union is also fairly simple, as there are a number of ways that you can qualify for membership. Membership to the credit union does require a payment of $15 upfront, $5 of which represents a share in the credit union and $10 of which covers the one-time membership fee.
