New AT&T Access More Card: Get Up To $650 Towards a New Phone
Citi and AT&T announced a new co-branded credit card today that offers users the opportunity to earn a free smartphone. The new AT&T Access More card allows cardmembers to get a new smartphone immediately, or later on, and be reimbursed for the cost of the phone, up to $650. The new card also offers three ThankYou rewards points for each dollar spent at AT&T and on online purchases at retail and travel websites.
Earning the smartphone
Cardmembers must first make $2,000 in purchases with their card within 3 months of account opening. Then, they must use their card, at any time, to buy a new phone from AT&T, at full price and with no annual contract, through a unique link provided by Citi and AT&T. Once they activate and maintain service with AT&T for at least 15 days, Citi will then issue a statement credit for the cost of the phone, up to $650, excluding taxes, fees, shipping and service.
Other benefits
The card earns 3 ThankYou points per dollar spent on products and services directly purchased from AT&T, as well as 3 points per dollar spent online at retail and travel websites. Retail websites are websites that sell goods directly to the consumer through an online website and include department store websites, specialty store websites, warehouse store websites and boutique websites. Travel websites are websites that allow you to book travel and include online travel agencies, hotel websites and airline websites. All other purchases will earn 1 points per dollar.
ThankYou points can potentially be redeemed for a penny in cash per point (as explained in this post).
You’ll also receive a 10,000 Anniversary bonus points–provided you have spent at least $10,000 in the prior cardmembership year–which can effectively cancel out the annual fee of $95, which is not waived for the first year.
The card also delivers the range of built-in benefits from Cit, including:
- View your complimentary FICO credit score
- Damage & theft purchase protection
- Extended warranty
- Citi Price Rewind, which searches online retailers’ sites for a lower price for 60 days after you register an eligible purchase
