When you apply for a new card and spend at least $2,000 in the first 3 months, you’ll earn 50,000 points that can be redeemed for $833 towards Wanna Get Away fares. The points can also alternatively be redeemed for $500 in gift cards.

Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Plus Card vs. the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Premier Card
50,000 points is also available as a signup bonus (after spending $2,000 in 3 months) for the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Plus Card. The Plus Card has a lower annual fee ($69) but also has a lower anniversary bonus (3,000 points vs 6,000) than the Premier card. The Premier card also has another feature that the Plus card lacks–spend you put on the card earns you Tier Qualifying Points that helps you gain elite A+ status faster. The Premier card also has no foreign transaction fees. If you don’t need these additional features, however, the Plus card may be better for you.
