Are the days of earning at least 2% cash back on all purchases for the Priceline Rewards™ Visa® Card numbered? For existing cardholders, the answer to that question is unclear.

What does seem to be the case, however, is that the previous, excellent offer that earned 5 points per $1 spent on “Name Your Own Price” transactions at Priceline.com and 2 points per $1 spent on all other transactions is no longer available to new customers.

Based on discussion at FW, recent applicants who tried applying for the 2% card were declined without a credit pull because the offer is no longer available. Instead, the only offer that remains for new applicants earns 5 points per dollar on Priceline.com purchases and 1 point per dollar on everything else.

Coupled with the upcoming changes to the US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature card, these changes represent a big downgrade for what were previously a couple of the top cash back credit cards on the market.

No notice has yet been sent out to existing Priceline Visa cardholders about any changes, so there is still hope that existing customers will be grandfathered into the old rewards program.
