New SPG Business Amex Offer

According to a couple of posters here and here on FT, there is a new Starwood Preferred Guest Business credit card offer that they received via e-mail that mirrors the offer for the personal card:

10,000 Starpoints with your first purchase.
15,000 Starpoints when you spend $15,000 in 6 months.

~~The business card offer is supposed to be located at this link. However, when I visit the link, I only see the standard 10,000 Starpoint offer.~~

Barclays Introduces New Miles and More MasterCard with Up to 35,000 Bonus Miles

Miles and More, the frequent flyer program of 12 European airlines, including Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss and others, has partnered with Barclays to launch a new credit card for US consumers. The new card comes in a couple of different versions: The Premier Miles & More World MasterCard and the Miles & More World MasterCard. Each card has a number of attractive features, including the following:

Both cards also come with an intro balance transfer rate of 0% for 6 months. The associated BT fee is 3% with a min of $5 and a max of $50. This means that those with elite status can potentially earn 35,000 bonus miles with a 0% balance transfer of $15,000, without paying an annual fee.

Citi® Platinum Select® / AAdvantage® World MasterCard®: 25,000 Bonus AAdvantage® Miles

Citi now has an offer for 25,000 bonus AAdvantage® Miles when you sign up for a new AAdvantage® credit card and spend $750 within 4 months. The annual fee is also waived for the first year as part of this deal.

The offer can be found here and is valid until May 31, 2008, per FW.

Note that if you plan to spend at least $10,000 in a year on the card that there is another viable option available, with up to 40,000 bonus miles: 20,000 after spending $750 within four months, another 10,000 miles after spending at least $10,000 in the first year, and a final 10,000 bonus miles for spending at least $10,000 in your second year. That offer is available here and is available until November 30, 2007.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to spend $750 on the card, you can take advantage of this offer which will give you 15,000 bonus miles after your first purchase of any amount.

Citi Launches Expedia Branded Credit Card

Citi has expanded its relationship with Expedia.com by introducing a new credit card. The Citi PremierPass® / Expedia.com® World MasterCard® comes in two versions: the no-fee card and the Elite card.

The benefits of the no-fee card include:

0% APR on purchases and balance transfers for 6 months (3% BT fee with $5 min and no cap)
Earn up to 3x ThankYou Points when you book on Expedia
$50 off first Expedia purchase
1 point for every 3 miles flown
1 point per $1 spent on other purchases

The features of the Elite card include:

0% APR on purchases for 6 months
Earn up to 3x ThankYou Points when you book on Expedia
$100 off first Expedia purchase
1 point for every 1 mile flown
2 points per $1 spent at supermarkets, drug stores and gas stations
1 point per $1 spent on other purchases
Complimentary companion tickets
$75 annual fee

These cards represent slight variations from the existing Citi PremierPass cards. The primary differences seem to be:

The initial signup bonuses come in the form of Expedia discounts ($50/$100) versus points (10,000/20,000)
The spending requirements to get the signup bonuses (only a single purchase for the Expedia-branded cards vs. $100/$500 in spending for the regular PremierPass cards)
The bonuses for Expedia-related spending
The intro 0% offers: Currently the standard no-fee PremierPass card offers a 15 month 0% balance transfer offer (3% fee with $5 min and no cap) while the standard Premier Pass Elite card does not offer any intro rate for either purchases or BTs.

US Airways Signature Visa: 25,000 Bonus Dividend Miles

The US Airways Signature Visa is now offering 25,000 bonus Dividend Miles when you sign up for the card and make your first purchase, an increase from the 20,000 miles it previously offered.

25000 miles is enough for a round-trip ticket within the continental United States and Canada. They can alternatively be redeemed for award travel between the continental U.S. or Canada and the Carribbean during the “Off-Peak” season.

As usual, the card offers 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers for 6 months with no balance transfer fee. There is a $90 annual fee for Visa Signature and Platinum Plus accounts, and a $50 annual fee for Preferred accounts.

Starwood Amex Summer Promo – Up to 200% Bonus

I got a mailer from AMEX for my Starwood Card. No Promo code not sure if it is open to everyone or it is a targeted promo.

Spend anywhere between 8-15-07 and 9-15-07 and get the following bonus depending on the amount you spend.

$500-1000 = 25% bonus points
$1k-5k = 50% bonus points
$5k-10k = 75% bonus points
$10k-20k = 100% bonus points
$20k + = 200% bonus points.

Bonus in addition to normal earned points and SPG Bonus.

This is a sizzling offer for Starwood Amex cardholders, though I strongly suspect that the offer is targeted, as Amex rarely makes these promos available to everyone.

Alaska Airlines Visa: Free Roundtrip Ticket with Application

Alaska Airlines and Bank of America are now offering 20,000 Mileage Plan Bonus Miles upon online approval for the Alaska Airlines Visa, an increase from the 5,000 miles that were previously being offered. Their current splash page still shows 5,000 bonus miles but if you click through to the terms and conditions, you’ll see the new offer.

20,000 miles is valid for a Round Trip Coach Saver Award ticket between the United States and Canda on either Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air. Note that the card has an annual fee of $75 for Visa Signature and Platinum Plus accounts, and $45 for Preferred accounts.

Hilton HHonors Amex: Up to 35,000 Bonus Points with Application

Normally you can earn 10,000 HHonors bonus points after your first purchase as well as 2,500 HHonors bonus points for each of your first four stays at a Hilton hotel, for a total of 20,000 bonus points.

During the current promotion, you can also earn an additional 15,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 in five months. It should be noted that this is not the most lucrative offer that Amex has ever offered for the Hilton card, as late last year, 30,000 bonus points were offered for $5,000 in spending. Still, it represents a significant upgrade over the standard offer.

So, here’s the math:

10,000 point bonus from 4 stays @ 2,500 bonus points each
30,000 points from spending $5,000 in 5 months (15,000 points for your spending + 15,000 points bonus)
+10,000 point bonus after your first purchase
——————————————————–
50,000 total points under this offer

To sweeten the deal, consider waiting until you have the card to add more card holders as Amex periodically offers bonus points for this activity. You can potentially earn 2,500 bonus points for each additional user you add. For instance, after you get the card, you can try adding a user at this link (which may be targeted).

In addition to the 10,000 bonus Starpoints that is usually offered with signup, American Express is now offering another 15,000 bonus Starpoints when you spend $5,000 on the card within your first 6 months of card membership. To date, this is the most lucrative promotion that the Starwood Amex has offered.

Citi Chairman Card v2.0

An outline of the benefits for the next generation of the Citi Chairman Card, which is Citi’s answer to the Amex Platinum, has just been rolled out.

The card’s features include:

Hilton Gold status
Priority Pass benefits, similar to what was available before
Personal concierge service

Changes include:

As expected, the new version of the card will be an Amex rather than a Mastercard.
All foreign transaction fees on the card will be waived until December 31, 2008.
For an additional fee, additional cardmembers can enjoy full benefits.
Companions can travel to select international destinations, rather than just domestic.
There is no explicit mention of select spend ThankYou points, where spending in categories such as gas, drugstores and groceries earn extra points, leading to the possibility that these bonuses are no longer offered.
