It turns out that Cap One isn’t the only credit card issuer currently offering a deal at a specialty grocery store. American Express is currently offering its cardmembers a one-time $10 statement credit when they make a single purchase of $75 or more at Whole Foods Market by June 30, 2013.
In order to participate in this promo, you must sync your Amex with Twitter (read instructions here), then tweet #AmexWholeFoods to add the offer to your card. Once the offer has been registered, simply make an eligible purchase at Whole Foods with your synced card by 6/30/13. Two years ago, American Express and social networking site Foursquare began a partnership that let Amex cardholders check in and receive instant discounts at select merchants. Today, Foursquare has announced that it is expanding this program to Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards.

American Express and Twitter have a new ecommerce experiment in the works. We saw the first example of it at work in Monday’s $25 Amex gift card deal. Their ultimate goal seems to be to turn Twitter into another platform for ecommerce, powered by Amex’s proprietary Card Sync technology.
