The original version of the card earned 3 points on eligible purchases at Amazon and 1 point anywhere else. The new version also earns 3 points on Amazon purchases, along with 2 points on gas, dining, drugstore and office supply purchases, in addition to 1 point everywhere else. Study Finds Amex Tops in Customer Satisfaction

According to JD Power and Associates 2008 Credit Card Satisfaction Study, American Express was rated the highest among credit card issuers for overall customer satisfaction. The poll of more than 7,600 credit card users found that Amex performed well across all five metrics that JD Power measured: interaction, billing and payment process, fees and rates, reward programs and benefits and services.

Was Citi Stealing From You?

Well, if so, it appears that Citi may have been surreptitiously profiting off of you. According to California Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr., between 1992 and 2003, Citibank’s computer systems utilized an “account sweeping” program that automatically removed any positive balances from customer accounts and deposited them into Citi’s general fund.
