Amex Cardmembers: Get a Free $25 While Supporting Small Business

Small Business Saturday - Earn $25 from AmexAmerican Express has brought back its Small Business Saturday promotion for another year. What does this mean? On Saturday, November 26, 2011 (the day after Black Friday), you can receive a one-time $25 statement credit when you use an eligible American Express card to make a purchase of at least $25 at a small business. To participate in this promo, you must enroll your card first at this link. The number of cards that can be registered for this promo is limited, so you’ll want to register ASAP.

There is also a limit of one statement credit per registered card, regardless of the number of transactions you make with the card. However, if you have multiple authorized users on a card, each authorized user should be able to register separately and earn a credit. Statement credits should be issued within 5 business days after your qualifying purchase but may take up to 2 billing cycles to post.

To find participating small businesses in your area, you can visit the Small Business Saturday Facebook page and click “See where you can shop to earn your $25 statement credit.”

Slate from Chase: 0% on Balance Transfers for 12 Months, No Fees

Chase just introduced a new offer on its Slate from Chase card: for a limited-time, you’ll get a 0% intro APR for up to 12 months with no balance transfer fees during the first 30 days your account is open. In addition, the card carries no annual fee.

While Slate from Chase doesn’t come with any rewards for spending, you wouldn’t want to make any purchases on it during the intro balance transfer period anyway. After you’ve taken advantage of the initial no fee balance transfer and the intro period is over, you can convert it to a rewards earning card such as the Chase Freedom.

Update 2/7: This Slate offer has expired. To view the current Slate from Chase offer, please see this link.
