Discover it® cardmembers will soon find it even easier to stay on top of their credit profile. Discover announced today that it is partnering with credit scoring company FICO to provide free credit scores to its cardmembers on their monthly statements.
Discover joins Barclaycard and FNBO, who announced their participation two weeks ago, in providing free FICO score access to their cardmembers.
Qualifying Discover it® cardmembers will automatically begin receiving free FICO scores from TransUnion on their monthly statements, provided either through the mail or online. Currently, free credit scores are available only to Discover it® cardmembers, with plans to roll out to other Discover cardmembers in the coming months.
Is it just a coincidence that Amex seems to be coming up with better offers just as the peak shopping season is about to begin? Probably not. Barclaycard and First National Bank of Omaha credit card holders will soon be able to access their credit scores for free, as part of a partnership with pioneering credit scoring company FICO. In addition, FICO said it is currently in talks with other banks to provide the free credit scoring service to their customers, as well.

Citi just increased the signup bonus on its premium travel rewards card, the Citi ThankYou® Premier Card, from 30,000 bonus ThankYou points to 50,000 points. 50,000 ThankYou points can be redeemed for $500 in gift cards or up to $625 towards travel.
The bonus does come with a bit of a twist. You’ll earn 20,000 points when you spend at least $2,000 in the first 3 months of opening your account. Then, you’ll earn an additional 30,000 points upon reaching $3,000 in purchases in the first 3 months of your second cardmember year. This means that you will need to pay the annual fee of $125 (which is waived for the first year) at least once, in order to get the full bonus.
