Amex just rolled out a few more new offers that will be of interest to many. Through April 30, 2014, when you register your eligible American Express card, you’ll get a one-time $20 statement credit when you use your registered card to spend a total of $100 at Staples, either in-store or online at staples.com. You can also register your American Express card to earn a one-time $5 statement credit when you spend $25 or more online at dollartree.com by May 31, 2014.

While the Staples offer excludes purchases from StaplesAdvantage.com, E-Gift Cards, SBA, Quill, Smilemaker, Staples Center, Staples Simplexity and Business to Business, the offer does specifically state that physical gift cards are eligible. As Staples carries a wide variety of third-party gift cards, this offer is a nice way to potentially get a discount at say, Amazon.com or on Shell gas, in case you have no need to spend $100 at Staples.

Update 4/14/14: Unfortunately, both the Staples and the Dollar Tree offers are no longer available on Twitter, as enrollment was limited and the maximum number of card members have already registered.

How to sign up using Twitter
In order to participate in either of these promos through Twitter:

1. First, you’ll need to connect or “sync” your eligible American Express Card with Twitter (See instructions here or read this post if you’re completely new to Twitter)
2. Tweet using the appropriate hashtag for the promotion
   • To enroll in the Staples offer, tweet #AmexStaples. (Read full terms here.)
   • To enroll in the Dollar Tree offer, tweet #AmexDollarTree. (Read full terms here.)
3. Wait to receive an “@ reply” message from @AmexOffers stating that the offer has been added to your card. You’ll see this message on the “Notifications” page under “Interactions.” You may need to wait a while before it shows up.
4. Finally, use your synced Amex to make an eligible purchase during the offer period.

How to sign up using Facebook
You can also sign up for many offers through Facebook.

1. First make sure that you have “liked” the Amex Sync app and registered your Amex at https://apps.facebook.com/amexlinklikelove/.
2. Once you have registered your American Express card with the app, you’ll be presented with offers that you can add to your card. (Note that you may need to click on the “Load more offers” button near the bottom of the page multiple times to view all of your offers.)
3. When you see an offer you like, click the “Get Offer” button.
4. A new frame will pop up with the offer terms. Click the “Add to Card” button to register your card for the promotion.
5. Finally, use your synced Amex to make an eligible purchase during the offer period to earn your statement credit.
