Delta Amex: First Bag Now Flies Free

Delta Air Lines just announced it will waive its fee on the first piece of checked luggage for Delta American Express cardholders beginning June 1, 2010. This benefit extends to cardmembers with an Amex Gold, Platinum or Delta Reserve SkyMiles credit card.

Delta will waive the $25 checked baggage fee on the first piece of checked luggage for up to nine people on the same reservation, but is not applicable to oversized or overweight bags. As Delta points out, that equates to savings of up to $50 on a round-trip ticket or $200 for a family of four. Cardholders will automatically receive the baggage fee waiver at Delta upon check-in for all Delta and Delta Connection flights.
