American Express Expands Rollout of Free FICO Scores

Free Credit ScoreLate last year, when American Express revamped its website design, it also quietly launched a pilot program offering free FICO scores to a select few cardmembers at random. It now appears that this pilot program was a success, since as of today, American Express has rolled out the feature to a much wider audience, though not yet to all cardmembers.

How to find your free FICO score
To access your free FICO score, log in to your AmericanExpress.com account. On the right hand side of the page, underneath “Your Last Log In” time, you’ll see a link that says “My Free FICO® Score” if the feature is available to you.

Other free credit scores
With this program, American Express joins the ranks of many other issuers, including Discover, Barclaycard and Citi, that offer free scores to their customers. Chase also offers free credit scores, though at the moment, the service is only available to Chase Slate cardholders.
